Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders with Barbecue Sauce

Baked ham and cheese sliders with barbecue sauce are topped with provolone cheese and tangy BBQ sauce for a quick and easy meal or game day snack

On the weekends when everyone is home, we’ll usually have a late breakfast or brunch. Sometimes, we end up having a lunch, which is exactly what happened today.

One of my teens has a part-time job, and I like to make sure my pickiest eater of all has a decent meal before she heads off to work. But, I also want something that doesn’t take a lot of time to make.

And, that’s where these baked ham and cheese sliders rock!

My daughter loves ham sandwiches, and so does her little brother, and so does the Hubs. One of the kiddos, the Monkey, isn’t a fan, but if there’s barbecue sauce on the sandwich, she’ll eat it anyway. So this is one lunch that pretty much pleases everyone.

We figured out a long time ago that baking the ham sandwiches all at once is the key to getting them done fast. And, it’s so easy too. We also use small buns and let people choose how many they want.

I personally like the ham to be as thin as possible. If you’ve ever had a chipped ham sandwich from Pittsburgh, you’ll understand. There’s just something about super thin, shaved ham that works really well on baked ham and cheese sliders.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound deli ham sliced thin
  • 10 small sandwich buns
  • 10 slices provolone cheese sliced thick
  • 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • Mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Slice sandwich buns, and lay flat on a large baking dish
  3. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the top part of each bun
  4. Pile the ham on the bottom part of each bun, and top ham with barbecue sauce
