Pretty Peppermint Bark

This whimsical and pretty peppermint bark is sure to be a hit with friends and family this holiday season. Package some up for a sweet gift to give.

I love to make fun and whimsical chocolate bark, especially in the swirly style made popular by Australian baker, Katherine Sabbath. I decided this year to bring her style to my traditional peppermint bark. This colorful and crazy peppermint bark still has the classic peppermint bark flavor, but with a fun new look. If you like to give edible gifts during the holidays, this peppermint bark is fantastic for gift giving!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 16oz Package Vanilla Candiquik (or vanilla Wilton Melts or almond bark)
  • 2-4 tsps pure peppermint extract
  • 6 oz Wilton Candy Melts Red
  • 6 oz Wilton Candy Melts Green

DIRECTIONS:

  1. To make your peppermint bark, you will start by melting your Candiquik, vanilla candy coating or almond bark according to the directions on the package.
  2. Three different colors of candy coating works well, but you could use two colors or go for four colors, this is more of an idea than a specific recipe. You can add one teaspoon of peppermint flavor to each color after melting, or simply add 2-4 teaspoons of peppermint extract to the vanilla.
  3. The fun of this candy bark comes from the swirling of your different colored candy melts together, and then sprinkling it with a variety of seasonal sprinkles and candies. The sky is the limit as to what you use for your toppings.
