Valentine’s Day Recipes: Desserts Galore

Love is in the air here at RecipeLion. We know that paradise is always where love dwells. So, bring paradise to your home with some wonderful Valentine’s Day recipes.  Make a cookie, or enjoy a great brownie for yourself this year.  Here is an even better idea!  Show someone you care by giving them a homemade sweet. I remember the best part of Valentine’s Day being the vast amount of treats we received at school. From chocolate, to little candy hearts, I ate every piece of candy, and sometimes read the cards.  After all, isn’t that what Valentine’s Day is all about the sweets?

At RecipeLion we know that there is no remedy for love, but to love even more. Let someone know that you are their secret admirer by satisfying their sweet tooth. We browsed the web for some wonderful sweets that we think you will all love. We know that for some people Valentine’s day is more than just sweets but a momentous moment in a relationship.  For you, we put together a collection of Meals for Two that will not only suit your dessert needs, but your dinner needs as well.


For those sweets lovers out there, here are a few tasty treats you cannot pass up. These come from our favorite food bloggers.  We are confident that you and your special someone will absolutely adore them.

Ingredients:
cake –

  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs + 2 more egg whites
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 2 T powdered sugar, for the towel when wrapping the cake

filling* –

  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 t vanilla or 1/2 a vanilla bean
  • 1 cup diced strawberries + more for topping

* I had a little less than half left over, so feel free to cut the filling recipe in half and you should be fine.

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400º. Coat a 15 x 10-inch jelly roll cookie sheet with cooking spray; line the bottom with parchment paper, and coat with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. In a medium bowl using an electric mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer beat together the eggs and sugar at high speed until pale and fluffy (about 5 minutes). Stir in vanilla.
  3. Add the flour mixture half at a time mixing on low until each portion is mixed in completely.
